I'm sure I will be repeating what every other photographer who knew Les will be saying - he encouraged me, he inspired me and he taught me. I first met Les at Alfredo's gallery in Amherst. I brought the image of the Italian girls (taken in 1971) to be framed. When Les looked at it he told me he thought I had a good "eye" and he encourage me to join the PVPA, a photo group that Les had started and I've been a member of for the past several decades. One of my proudest photographic achievements was when Les asked me for the photo of the Rowboats at Mohonk Manor House to hang in his living room. I, as well as a countless number of his fellow photographers, will be indebted to Les for a lifetime for what he's given to us - freely, generously and lovingly. We thank you Les.
