Paul Hetzel

A little over 20 years ago, I was invited to become a charter member of the Pioneer Valley Photographic Artists, most commonly known as the PVPA. I was less than an accomplished photographer and I approached the initial meeting with trepidation. In the room were fellow photographers significantly more talented than I. I snuck into the back row in Les's Sky Meadow gallery. Within minutes Les sought me out and instantly made me feel welcome. With each ensuing meeting, I learned more and more from Les's critiques and suggesttions. In addition to sharing his photographic knowledge, he taught me to master the art of matting an image. Under his tutelage, PVPA grew to be the success it enjoys today. I am eternally grateful for all he has done for myself and my fellow photographers.
