I feel very honored to have known Les through his invitation for me to join QPG & PVPA. Les would always make you feel welcomed. He would love to share his skills as a photographer and would always welcome anyone to his home and studio. He would stand outside his gallery and wait to greet you with a smile. One of many memories I especially will treasure is how he showed us how to photograph hummingbirds studio style. Inside of the studio, the window is open with my camera ready on a tripod. The camera flashes are set up outside facing the hummingbird's feeder which is camouflaged as a flower. One female hummingbird became very daring and slowly flew through the window and into the other room. She landed on the windowsill fluttering her wings so fast, I then pulled down the window shade to calm her. I then slowly pulled the shade up and I was able to gently cup her in my hands to bring her outside. I could feel her wings fluttering and making the cutest little sound, then off she went. She still returned to the feeder in front of the window and I continued to capture nice pictures. Les then looked at me smiling and said now you have a story.
Thank you Les...
